07:29 AM ET 02.10 | The wheels came off quickly for Denver at the Super Bowl, beginning with a bad snap while the Seahawks seem to have the AFC champs rattled. "Don't you ever say you want one-on-one with us," Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman yelled derisively at Broncos slot receiver Wes Welker. "Don't you ever say that!" Welker had just run open on a crossing route in the third quarter. By the time [Peyton Manning's] pass arrived, Seattle safety Kam Chancellor came off his deep coverage to blow up the play. Sherman then came in to taunt Welker, who jogged off without a word. Sound FX then caught Manning getting on Welker for not making the catch. Perhaps Manning couldn't see from his collapsing pocket how fast Chancellor closed on the play. Poor Welker. He got chewed out twice for a play he had no chance of making.

Welker does tend to come up small in the big game anyway!

"Poor Welker" is getting paid enough to get over being yelled at by anyone.

Key facts from the story:

The Seahawks absolutely dominated the Broncos.
The Seattle defense loves to trash talk.

I think this story has been covered a few times already.

Was watching the NFL Network last night Seattle@ San Francisco. Marshawn Lynch was talked on his own 10 yard line. He got up ran over to Donte Whitner and started saying something to him and then the referees called taunting on Whitner. That gave Seattle an automatic 1st down and allowed them to continue their drive and score a TD. Yet here it is stated that Sherman clearly was the taunter and nothing happened.

The referees need to get on the same track.

^^^^^ Lynch was tackled on his 10 yard line

old story. every group of refs calls thing more often, or less often than other groups. bottom line is there is no consistency in NFL officiating.
