07:30 AM ET 02.10 | Is eight merely enough? The Vikings have eight picks in the NFL draft. General Manager Rick Spielman wants to add at least two more. Spielman said the team's annual goal is to compile at least 10 draft selections. ... "We have eight right now, and a lot of that [movement] doesn't happen until you're on the clock," Spielman said. "[I] really, really think we're going to do a lot of movement in the draft." Spielman said he thinks the Vikings have a lot of flexibility with the eighth overall pick and plans to be aggressive in the draft with the idea of trading down for more picks, or up for a certain player. "Everything is a possibility; we're in February," Spielman said. One option with the eighth pick could be a quarterback.

Sure add more picks because they've done so well.

True. You would think that even a blind squirrel could find a nut sometimes.

Some teams prove that adage wrong.

Think I would worry about fixing somethings first , at 8th you should be able to get a QB or WR or DLMAN that can contribute from the start.

You've got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em.....

The Vikings could build a team through the draft just like 49ers and Seattle. But like the 49ers and Seattle the team need to secure a quarterback. Second to a quarterback the Vikings should pick up security in a running back and work on the secondary and linebackers. With eight picks the Vikings could come up with a receiver and offensive lineman.

Looking forward to seeing what transpires at the QB spot. Ponder's marriage hangs in the balance.

So it is confirmed the draft will be shaken up ?

Minnesota will either trade up or down or not at all.

Spielman's annual goal is the problem. It should not be to have 10 picks in the draft, it should be to have 4 picks of quality, preferably in the first three rounds. When you start with the wrong assumption, you get the wrong answer.

The idea is to accumulate talent, not picks. Jeesh!

and if the talent evaluation sucks it doesn't matter if they have 20 picks! A franchise with no clue!

and while they ponder that..........

Rule #1 of the time between the SB and draft: Never believe a word coming from any GM's mouth. An article out of the same paper also said he was looking to trade up.
