Red Sox ready for rotation overhaul

07:37 AM ET 02.10 | The feats of Red Sox pitching prospect Henry Owens have become something approximating legend. "That guy is amazing," said catcher Blake Swihart, Owens' teammate for most of the past two seasons. ... [Owens] is at the head of the Red Sox' class at a time when the upper levels of the farm system are flush as ever with pitching prospects. Allen Webster, Rubby De La Rosa, Alex Wilson, Brandon Workman and Drake Britton got a taste of the majors last year, with Workman even pitching the second-to-last inning of the World Series. And although the others displayed their various warts ... they're still very much in the Sox' plans. Within the next 12-18 months, Owens, Barnes, Anthony Ranaudo, Noe Ramirez and recently signed Cuban defector Dalier Hinojosa are in line to join them.

Great position for the Sox, excess tradable pitching talent.

Maybe when a couple of them start beating the Yankers regularly, for teams other than the BoSox, you will feel differently! ;-)

Owens just made AA late last season and strikes out well over a batter per inning while walking about a guy every two innings...the first is great, second not so good. He's only 21 and actually pitched a lot better in AA than A+ last season (struck out 1.5 guys per inning in Portland), so he's certainly worth getting excited about.
On a lighter note, it was hilarious when Bode Miller's wife pulled her hoodie over her face after his disappointing downhill run...I predict they get divorced soon. Miller's father let his doobie fall out of his mouth and cried, "Heavy, man!!!"
