07:43 AM ET 02.10 | Michael Sam has come out, and so, too, have so many supporters of his announcement -- particularly his former Missouri teammates. Donovan Bonnner, a senior linebacker on last year's Mizzou team, said he and other players from Sam's 2009 freshman class had known for years that Sam was gay. Bonner said Sam seemed relieved this past season after he told the rest of the team. "Once he told people, it was normal for everyone," Bonner said. "He was comfortable." ... "You take that off your shoulders," Bonner added, "and it relieves a lot of stress in the locker room, where the smallest things can build up. And then he turned into a beast (last year)." ... Also releasing a statement Sunday, Missouri athletic director Mike Alden praised Sam for "being a leader in his personal life."

I wondered how long it would take for this comment to show up on the thread, and you won the prize for homophobia on the first post!

Wish the kid the best of luck dealing with the incoming media circus.

The sad part about this will be the media circus and the homophobic GM's that don't want to take him. I'm afraid his draft stock is going to drop.

Now we'll see what all those blowhard NFL gasbags who wouldn't give Tebow a
chance because of the "circus-like atmosphere" he would bring have to say

Truth...
This to me is really a non-story, but, why not wait until after the draft to go public?
May have cost himself lots of $$$

May have cost him som $$$$...but this way he is making a stand. No one can say he waited because the money was more important.

Gotta admire the guy.

I agree with your point, however, whats three months, how much more of an impact could be made later? Its splitting hairs on the political end but still financially what more could he have made being a higher pick?

Canada? Arena Ball?

Whoever drafted him could've felt shafted (excuse the reference) due to him waiting til after the draft to speak.
