Timberwolves not looking at trades

05:46 PM ET 02.10 | There was a report over the weekend that the Minnesota Timberwolves would be open to moving J.J. Barea, Dante Cunningham and Alexey Shved in a trade that brings a big name to town and keeps Kevin Love happy. While that may be true that the team is willing to part ways with those assets in a trade, it appears Minnesota is not actively pursuing any deals ahead of the deadline. According to Marc J. Spears from Yahoo! Sports, the Wolves are more interested in developing who they have, rather than bringing someone new in.

IDK, im a huge fan of the wolves <sigh>. Don't know what the current management knows but it sure seems that the majority of others feel that Love will leave. Well...give it till the draft and see what happens. He still has a year left on his contract so the wolves still have some leverage over a team that will want to win straight out for next year. In watching the games, something is missing. Love is a great talent but to the amateur eye he hasn't been able to be that guy to take over the game when its needed. I realize those are few and far between and difficult to obtain, but you cant let him walk for nothing like some of these other stars. Target a team(s) with players and or picks that are able to help out, and sell the hell out of Love to them. Easier said than done i know, but they better get proactive if they cant get another commitment out of him.

Love will never be traded to the Lakers. Owner Glen Taylor hates the Buss family.

No brainer.
The Wolves are far enough out of the playoff hunt that it's a tough sell to think that they will make it. Also, at the moment, they are #12 in the lottery and within the "Top 13" protection for the pick that Phoenix owns.
Why would they want to trade away future assets, miss this year's draft, and then watch Love leave at the end of next season?

Love will probably leave anyway. The question is do they just want cap space, or some useful assets along with it.

Cap space doesn't do a lot for the wolves other than resigning current players, they are never able to bring in top players cuz no one wants to play there unfortunately but if it was me id get rid of love to someone who will give you a good pick and maybe a role player and hope to get something in the draft...I'm not that sold on love anyways and he'll probably leave so might as well get something back

LA Is Your Destiny, Bro.

Love to see Kev in LA...

Mello to Wolves??? Please.

Carmello Anthony = Tracy McGrady.

With both of them, you can count on this: flashy scorer, put a few fans in the seats, and never make players around them better; and therefore, do not make their teams better.

The sooner Carmello moves onto HIS baseball carreer, the better.

Maybe far fetched, but I think they should talk to Boston about a Love and Rubio for Rondo and Sullinger and maybe some picks/payers involved as well.

Love wants 2 leave anyway so building around him isn't going 2 make sense. So he's prolly l.a. bound.
