07:29 AM ET 02.11 | In a way, Paul Maholm, who has averaged more than 160 innings per season throughout his career -- which had been spent mostly with Pittsburgh until pitching for Atlanta (37 games) and Chicago (21 games) -- will be watching his fantasy points this season in Los Angeles. [Maholm] said his incentive-laden contract protects him whether he starts or relieves, and here are the facts: In addition to a $1.5 million guaranteed base salary, Maholm has the potential to earn a maximum of $5 million in incentives. To accomplish that, he must compile a total of 60 points, with two points for a game started, 1.5 points for an appearance of two or more innings and one point for an appearance of fewer than two innings. Last year with Atlanta, Maholm made 26 starts. That would earn him $3.5 million this year.

Maholm has got as much chance as I do of hitting a fortune with the Powerball as he does in pitching this year and getting his points for his reward.

Maholm will overcome the east division where he last pitched for the braves,
been with the dodgers its a totally new challenge though!!

He gets tattooed by righties, doesn't overpower anyone, and gives up the long ball. In fairness, he made 16 road starts vs 10 home starts, and pitched much better at home. This guy has 10 more years in him as a lefty specialist.
