Evans' family feeling wrath of Auburn fans

07:35 AM ET 02.11 | Of course, Rashaan Evans, the five-star linebacker from Auburn High School, believes he made the right decision when he signed with Alabama. There are plenty of people who support Evans regardless of his decision, but every fan base has a few immature individuals who take the decision of a high school stranger too personal. Those fans vent frustration on message boards and or social media. "It's getting worse," Evans said on Monday evening. "Someone actually put out an article about my family's business telling all Auburn fans not to go there. We are going to eventually start losing money. ... Social media has definitely been the worst. People on Instagram are telling me how they hope I tear my ACL in game one. They will laugh when I do."

People got to grow up. Which Aubie fan is going to go poison some trees in Tuscaloosa? Or shoot their friend if they aren't upset enough by this news?

Worse than sad, pathetic. Every fan base has its losers, and as an Auburn fan, and moreover, a CFB fan, these people are sickening. The Updykes of the world. Evans made what he feels is the best decision for him. Not for the fan base. I'm as tired of hearing about this as I am of Sams announcement that he's gay.

Oh, the pretty, valuable side to amateur athletics. I am glad that these are played only to entertain us and provide school assistance and hopefully a better life to the kids lucky-enough to qualify.

Isn't it a beautiful set-up??

There is no justifing stupidity. But Evans would do well to ignore these idiots rather than run to the media. He knew there would be upset fans when he chose Auburn. Look at his mom's expression when he made the announcement :>} Use the stupid twitter comments as motivation rather than whining and throwing fuel on the fire.

... which took the focus away from Marcus Smart.

Worry not, something will come along in a day or 2 and make us forget all about Smart, Sam, Evans, etc.

From what I hear she was mad at the booing.

I'm not going to get into a big argument here. But, it's more than just twitter stuff.

They are looking into the tax records of the family. They are now investigating whether he was at auburn high school illegally (wouldn't they have already known that or investigated that?) in an effort to get him banned from participation in college athletics.

What a dooshbag society we live in. The Evans stuff is extreme but commits everywhere are being bashed on social media when they take visits to other schools, etc. "Hope he tears a MCL, we should pull his scholly" stuff like that. It's mainstream now.

Football prowess is not the most important thing in life. It's not even in the top 10 of life. People who treat it as such are morons.

Seriously? Some people really need to get a life. There are far more important things to worry about.

Who's Deondre Clark?

The comment was more of a bash at Bama fans who went over the top. Not at all like those nice, calm LUS fans.
