12:02 PM ET 02.11 | With the NBA trade deadline rapidly approaching, teams are starting to stand out as either buyers or sellers in the market. The Atlanta Hawks have put together a pretty respectable season, and while they're far from a postseason lock, it appears they may be willing to make some deals to secure a piece that makes them into true contenders. According to Basketball Insider's writer Yannis Koutroupis, the Hawks are one of the teams he expects to be active at the deadline, although they won't be desperate.

Hey what about the Mighty Raptors? They are ahead of Atlanta in the standings.
Not too often I can say that.

I think the Hawks may want to be active but that doesn't mean they will pull the trigger. Danny Ferry won't sell the farm unless it is for a player that is the future of the franchise. I don't see anyone giving away a Franchise Player to the Hawks. You'll probably see a small deal that fills a need like a Rebounder and then they will wait until the off-season.
