12:03 PM ET 02.11 | The NBA trade deadline is approaching fast which means that teams all over the NBA are going to be looking at potential deals to boost their roster. Not everyone is in a trade frenzy though as plenty of teams sit it out and simply watch the circus like the rest of us. One of those teams typically is the San Antonio Spurs but the team may end up being active at the deadline. They're usually a quiet team but there are rumblings that they might make a move if they can get substantial return for Kawhi Leonard.

Leonard is a pretty good player. I don't know that he will ever be a great player. I don't think any time is going to give them a "substantial return" for Leonard.

I'd be surprised if they got rid of Kawhi. I guess you can't blame them for seeing what they could get in return.

Getting Rid of Kawhi would be dumb, The Spurs are in need of wing defenders as it is.

I tend to doubt that this story is even true. Why would they mess around with their chemistry at such a critical time. Leonard is their best young guy while everyone else is getting old.

this has to be one of the dumbest things ive ever seen and if its true would be a stupid move on the Spurs.

Why would they even consider this...unless you are getting a younger better SF like George then yes...but if not why? He is inexpensive, hard working and what will teams give you for that....peanuts...BS story

For him? Maybe two first rounders...and then you will have to pray you get another Leonard....instead of a pair of duds...a classic case of its better to have one bird in the hand than two in the bush

This story is baloney. KL is their future, a player that they are looking to keep for a long time. They guy is a great defender and is just beginning to tap his potential on offense.

LOL.

OH NO! not KAwhi Leonoard- the Kawhi Leonard that is going to be a top 5 small forward in the league according to SD!

February 11, 2014  10:51 PM ET

Why not? Spurs have been drumming up KL for years as if he's a top 5 player in this league. The dude is so inconsistent, hurt a LOT and very immature. Talent means nothing if you can't put it together. He's like marvin Williams.

Buyer beware

February 12, 2014  06:44 AM ET

gotta wonder why. sounds like a rumor to start chatter which it has

February 12, 2014  08:49 AM ET

Dumb story! Spurs don't do trades at trade deadline especially w/ their good record. They'll do it w/ the off season like what they did w/ GHill to get Kawhi.

February 12, 2014  09:22 AM ET

Come To LA, Bro.

February 12, 2014  10:32 AM ET

what a horrible move this would be, Kawhi is the only player on this team with fresh legs as was obvious in the NBA Finals. Taking him out of the picture sets this team back 2 or 3 years. Dumb Dumb idea

This is his third year in the league and he has already down WAY more than Marvin Williams. No way they should even be in the same sentence.
