07:25 AM ET 02.12 | With CEO Joe Banner and GM Michael Lombardi having been shown the door in Cleveland, the next to leave may be 2013 opening day quarterback Brandon Weeden. Two sources close to Weeden have told NFL Media columnist Michael Silver that the 2012 first-round draft pick is ready for a change of scenery. "Given the turmoil with the coaching staff and lack of public support from the most recent front office, he's interested in a fresh start with a clean slate and an opportunity to compete to show he has the talent to develop into a productive player in the league," Silver reported Tuesday on NFL Network's "NFL Total Access." It's debatable whether Weeden would have developed into a solid NFL starter had the coaching staff and front office that drafted him remained in place.

Why did they hire Lombardi in the first place?

Anytime I think things couldn't possible get worse with the Cowboys, the Browns seem to pop up and remind me that it can indeed get worse.

Much, much worse.

Clearly a franchise that needs to be bulldozed entirely. What a mess!!

But the front office there has created it.

The team left town long ago, yet these specters remain. They need an exorcist. "This stadium... is clear."

no need for the browns to keep Weeden anyways; when they will land Johnny Football in the draft

See Johnny. See Johnny get drafted by the Browns. See Johnny shat in his pants.

Why would anyone ever want to play there? 3 coaches in 407 days. Uncertainty at all levels of the team, an owner under federal investigation. No real quality FA will sign and players can't be guaranteed any system stability during their tenure.

No disputing that fact these days. Top to bottom there is just nothing good going on there.

If I were Manziel and were drafted by this dump of a franchise I would pull the biggest Elway possible

That's a given. You can bet his advisors, etc are making contingency plans if they do draft him.

Haslam will soon realize that you cannot run a NFL business like his Pilot stores and fire everyone who looks or says something wrong to you .

Can players still pull an Elway (or an Eli) and say they don't want to play for a particular team that looks likely to draft them, and make it stick?

Speaking of tops and bottoms, how are their cheerleaders?

(Just looking for a ray of sunshine in an otherwise apocalyptic landscape.)
