Knicks desperate to land Faried

07:29 AM ET 02.12 | The Kenneth Faried Chase, Part II. The Knicks, I'm told, are trying to re-engage Denver in what has become a season-long crusade to convince the Nuggets to consent to a trade that essentially swaps Iman Shumpert for [Faried]. One source close to the situation said the most likely trade scenario -- if it ever progresses to a serious stage -- would package Shumpert and Beno Udrih to Denver for Faried and Jordan Hamilton. But that's the issue; New York simply hasn't been able to get Denver to seriously consider the idea. Faried is earning only $1.4 million this season as he heads into a summer where he's eligible for a contract extension. A salary that low obviously makes it tricky for the Nuggets to get something resembling equal value for Faried when he's still on his rookie-scale contract.

Faried is a consummate role player. Put him on a good team and let him go.

The Knicks ad Nuggets stink. They are terrible. No vision. Completely incompetent organizations. Its like they think there are only 2 teams in the league the way they shift players between them.

The Knicks are desperate. For any help. Enough said.

Faried is an energy guy. A younger Anderson Varejao. The Knicks need more than that.

Knicks don't have Jerry West or any Jerry West connection. Knicks cannot lowball the Nuggets into giving up their prized possession unless Denver is that dumb.

Can't Do It Your Way, Bros.

QUOTE(#6):

That's correct. The Lakers were the chosen ones, not the Knicks. Jerry West was the GM in Memphis but was still working for the Lakers.

You Sound Like A Broken Record, Bro.

This is undersized power forward. He'll take STAT's minutes because he can grab A rebound.

Its moves like this that show you why we Knicks fans may never see another championship (fan since 1967), and some may never see one at all.

Thanks Dolan: Ruining the Knicks, and the Billion Dollar Comedy Club, formerly known as Madison Square Garden, since 1994.

Go NY.

He's better than Varejao and a younger and better version than Chandler.

February 12, 2014  10:56 AM ET

He's also a PF, not a C like Varejao and Chandler.

February 12, 2014  10:57 AM ET

I like his energy...

But he couldn't defend WEST the other night...

So man just keep SHRUMP?

February 12, 2014  11:20 AM ET

Why? They were desperate to get rid of David Lee...and now he is doing well in GS...Another moronic move from NYK

is he better than AV?
not so sure-
AV is much taller and before all his injuries and he got older he was a damn fine player.

faried is a solid energy guy-
look at sideshows stats before he started breaking down-
av was a far superior rebounder
