10:07 AM ET 02.12 | The New Orleans Saints will have a decision to make with linebacker Jonathan Vilma once free agency begins in early March, and it looks like they are prepared to let the veteran test the market and eventually walk. According to reports, it is "highly likely" that Vilma will be looking for a new home in 2014. Vilma has played in just 12 games over the past two seasons, thanks to injuries and suspension, and he has shown clear signs of slowing down in the rare moments that he makes it onto the field.

Vilma's production has plummeted, time to let him go and find a replacement.

He wants package protection.

No surprise. I wonder if he shops around and returns to the saints at the minimum + incentives.

He should sue Roger Goodell. Vilma probably feels there is no evidence that he can't play anymore. Framed!

VIIIILMAAAAAA!!!!

February 12, 2014  03:28 PM ET

He can't stay healthy for a full season, and He isn't getting any younger...

Good riddance.

A legend in his own mind.

Beside letting him become a FA, Saints also cut Jabari Greer, Roman Harper, and Will Smith. They may have nobody from the D left from the 09 Super Bowl. I realize the NFL is a short career but that's a big turnaround in 5 seasons.

Just enough money to sign their future draft picks. More surgery is needed.

Goes sideline to sideline as good as any linebacker in the game....someone will sign him...
