02:25 PM ET 02.12 | The NBA trade deadline is almost here which means that teams are starting to gauge the value of some o the more desirable trade chips they have. One such team are the Dallas Mavericks who are looking at maybe making a deal at the deadline to secure one more key piece to the roster. One guy that won't be traded in any such deal is guard Monta Ellis. According to Eddie Sefko from SportsDayDFW, Ellis' value just isn't what the Mavericks want when it comes to trading him away. They also believe that Ellis and Dirk Nowitzki can be a powerful tandem still.

weren't the mav faithful singning his praises like a month ago?
guess a leopard can't change his spots

They wouldn't get a player as good to fill that position at his price which is relatively cheap. Ellis is playing as good as he have played probably since 2008. He is shooting better

NY is desperate, go knock on their door.

To go drinking with?

Dumb article and another reason why FanSided sucks. No one associated with the Mavs has even intimated they are unhappy with Monta.

I'd ask where they come up with crap like this but FanSided is a wealth of crap like this.

Dude went 23/9/6 tonight.

Yeah - trading that is a good idea.

Monta has been perfect for Dallas. He has been aggressive and makes a lot of plays. The team is gelling and they are getting better. Devin has been good off the bench. He and Monta are the ones who are constantly attacking the basket. Dirk is also back to the vintage Dirk.

Exactly. Which makes it even more ridiculous that they would entertain trading him.

LOL...

The redesign comes two days after the Pelicans sent out an elaborate, cheeky press release announcing that Pierre would be undergoing reconstructive surgery to address a ???broken beak??? sustained when he ran into a basket stanchion while playing pick-up ball with a number of other mascots.

Don't be fooled... once the trade deadline passes players will get back to their old ways... we've all seen this before.
