Knicks not likely to land Faried or Lowry

02:30 PM ET 02.12 | The New York Knicks are trying to make sure that their team is one that Carmelo Anthony wants to return to in 2014-15, and that may involve making some trades at the deadline. Making the postseason and making a run would very much help the Knicks' chances of bringing Melo back, and that's why they appear to be so active as the trade deadline approaches. Kenneth Faried and Kyle Lowry have been on the Knicks radar recently, and while it's unlikely that they'll land either one before the deadline passes, Steve Kyler from Basketball Insiders states that won't stop the Knicks from trying their hardest.

don't mortgage the future (again)

they aren't competing this year-
so why give up anything for lowry- who's going to be a FA?
and as for faried- he will want to get PAID
don't lock up role players- until the melo situation is resolved.

The Knicks have few assets anyone wants. They are old or crazy.

The Cavs are young and perennially underachieving being much better?

morover, why would first place toronto, want to part with their second best player, who has been awesome for them...farried for shump might solve a need for both teams, but who knows

it is bizzare with toronto.
they seem to be wanting to follow the cav path
they have something nice going on- let it roll
start to fill out the roster now with some vets

So true. & Knicks have no chips 2 work with(no draft picks). Wait until free agency then make moves cuz this season is a bust.

They have to try and make a trade because they have no $ available to spend in free agency. And this year isn't a bust just yet when they play in the Eastern Conference where they can still make the postseason.

they need to keep their eye on the prize-
DON'T add any salary past next year unless its a LEGIT player-
like a rondo or someone of that ilk,

don't take on bad contracts or old guys.

(granted that ^ is what the NY mentality has been the last 15 years)

What future? They have nothing that other teams want. I forgot TH Jr is the only player w/ trade value. The best case scenario is trading Melo and getting a star and a pick in return.

Man.. forget about it.. even if we get the best player at every position and get the best coaches to coach em... dolan will still find a way to wreck the team. Why the hell did we have to get a new GM after 54 wins.
