07:15 AM ET 02.13 | Considering the way the Patriots run their personnel operation, this would qualify as news. According to a Cleveland radio station, former Browns general manager Michael Lombardi, who worked with Patriots coach Bill Belichick in Cleveland, is likely to be coming to New England to join the Patriots' front office. Chris Fedor of 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland tweeted that it was looking like Lombardi, fired in Cleveland on Monday, would reunite with Belichick, who coached the Browns from 1991-95. It is uncertain what role Lombardi would play with the Pats. ... Fedor's colleague, Daryl Ruiter of 92.3 The Fan, and Mike Loyko of NEPatriotsDraft.com are also reporting that Lombardi is expected to join the Patriots. Nick Caserio is the Pats' director of player personnel.

I'd make a joke about how long ago it was, but I'm a Denver fan... The Super Bowl is a forbidden topic for us.

My first response was to make a comment about how the accompanying photo showed Jim Thorpe handing the trophy to Bob Kraft...

Oh well. One day the embarrassment will fade. I survived those Elway blowouts in the 80's. And the Craig Morton blowout in the '70's.

They may be old but some teams have gone decades since their last sniff of a Lombardi. Just sayin'.
