07:32 AM ET 02.13 | If Pittsburgh is going to make a run after the Olympic break, it will have to do so without right wing Pascal Dupuis. The Penguins announced [Dupuis] underwent successful surgery Wednesday to repair a torn ACL in his right knee. Dupuis, 34, was injured Dec. 23 in Ottawa six months after signing a four-year, $15 million contract with the Penguins. He produced seven goals and 20 points in 39 games this season. Dupuis was injured when Ottawa defenseman Marc Methot's hip check sent center Sidney Crosby flying into Dupuis' knee. Although the Penguins haven't confirmed that he will miss the season, such a surgery generally has a minimum recovery time of six months.
