07:35 AM ET 02.13 | In Vancouver, Team USA managed not only to reach the final, but also to force overtime with a chance to win gold. It was that gold medal loss to Canada that made believers out of those associated with the U.S. Olympic hockey program, raising the bar for this year's team of 25 Olympians. "I know we're at the point that if we enter any tournament wearing a USA jersey we expect to win," said Brian Burke, director of player personnel for the U.S. Olympic team. "I think that's where our program is now. Whether we go in as a favorites doesn't matter to me. All I care about, and all our players and management care about, is that we expect to win and we plan to do that." Since the NHL began allowing its players to participate in the Olympics in 1998, the Americans have had its share of highs and lows.

IF the US wins (and I like their chances more than most), it will be because PK and JVR stepped up and showed all you haters that they are an elite tandem.

Oh, wait, 2 goals already??? What????

I also like their chances more than most. Always have.

7-1 last I looked. Granted, they will face tougher opposition, but I am keeping the faith.

Did they conduct the interview with Burke at a bar at his local Applebees?

I saw the last 2 periods of the American game. I was actually embarassed for the Slovaks. That was Boys vs Men out there. Nasty rest of the day for the Slovak Team members.
