Knicks open to trading Shumpert, Hardaway?

05:12 PM ET 02.13 | The New York Knicks need a lot of help if they want to truly turn things around in the second half of their season, and one way to do that is to make a trade. It's widely accepted that all trade rumors involving Carmelo Anthony are misguided and incorrect, but making trades to appease Melo seems to be a motivating factor in making a move. The Knicks tried to trade for Kyle Lowry earlier in the year but ended up dropping out of trade talks. Now, with the deadline approaching rapidly, the team may look at trading either Tim Hardaway Jr., or Iman Shumpert to acquire a piece that can play with Melo.

Makes sense...the two best players on the team.....they'll be ecstatic to be off that abortion of a team...

good idea trade away two young players with a bright future ahead of them

This team will be cursed as long as Dolt-an owns it. He backed out of the Lowry deal because of his fear of dealing with Majiri again, plain and simple. He felt he got jobbed in the 'Melo deal and now doesn't have a chance at landing one of the top-3 PGs in the East. Raptors are glad Masai didn't deal Kyle, now team is on the rise and Lowry has been lights-out.

Shump is a decent player, but over rated in the sense, he is very inconsistent. He does have upside and young but doubt he'll seriously fetch an all-star caliber player in return.
Hardaway jr is intriguing. A contender needing a shooter might give back something in value for NY.

Shump is indeed overrated by Knick fans. Hardaway might be a future star but the hope is people do not overrate him simply because of his Dad.

The Knicks are built to win NOW and future players are pretty expendable. Melo is not getting younger and his window will soon start to close as he ages. They have an old roster, the time to make a move is NOW. The Eastern Conference is so weak, if they added a second star, they could rise to 3-4 in the EC.

You are giving Dolan way too much credit implying that he is capable of recognizing that he got jobbed earlier by Masai.

This team is so dumb. Nothing more to say SMH

Shumpert needs to be traded before the rest of the league finds out how over valued he is. Hardaway should be kept for at least another year to see how he develops.

Who wants them? Shumpert doesn't show a lot of days and Hardaway Jr. doesn't show much...

I don't see many teams breaking down the Knicks front door to get Shumpert. Maybe the rest of the league knows how over valued and rated Shumpert really is?

But that's the Knicks and their fans for you. They over value every player on the team. There's Knick fans that think that Shumpert can bring in a All-Star player or a high first round pick in this upcoming draft.

I hope Knick fans watch this years draft. Then they can watch as Denver draft a very good player with New York's draft pick.

This would b a disaster of a trade. Get rid of andrea b. Or beno those 2 r not worth keeping. Knicks got 2 keep & develop young players.
