07:29 AM ET 02.14 | Not far removed from what felt like a title run, Andre Johnson believes the Texans are close to becoming a contender again. [But he] does have a game-plan for what the Texans should do with the number one pick. Johnson, speaking today at the Houston Golf Club promoting his golf tournament on March 10 that will benefit the area women's center, said, "I have thought about different scenarios. Me personally, if I had it, I would probably trade it, but that's just my opinion." Johnson added that his opinion is not a suggestion. "That doesn't make it right," he said. "Doesn't mean they should listen to me." ... Johnson did say that a rebuilding process would be difficult, but that he expects to be a Texans player for the rest of his career. "I think so. I really couldn't picture myself in another jersey."

stay if he must but he's not winning anything in Houston.

I would try to trade the pick as well, to move down some in the first round.

Houston has a lot of talent, though. A quick rebound is in order.

Does any veteran WR in the NFL want a rookie QB? Better off with the devil he knows. He has a lot of big time stats just the way it is.

Not sure. Does any veteran WR in the NFL want Matt Schaub?

Usually coming off a season with the worst record in the NFL for most teams looking a head 500 record would be a good goal for the upcoming season. Playing in a weak division the Texans are not that far away from getting back to the top and multiple picks for the first pick would really help.

Your looking at it as being about winning. Andre got a $62 million contract with $48 million of that guaranteed with the Schaubmeister throwing to him. At 32 Andre is not in to rebuilding.

They have the number one pick and this draft is rich in QBs. The time to use that pick is now.

Either way whether they trade the pick or not he'll have a rookie QB starting this season.

Could very well be, unless new coach thinks Schaub can be fixed.

They do in Massachusetts, but it's the government, not the football team.

Fortunately.

Houston is loaded with talent and now have a decent head coach.

Take the pick then trade it for what you want. Hoping your man will be there when it's your turn don't always turn out.
