09:58 AM ET 02.14 | The issue of marijuana use has been brought up in multiple sports over the past few weeks. UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is the latest athlete to speak out on the issue and she was very clear that she does not believe athletic commissions should be testing for marijuana when conducting their drug tests. Not only is it far from a performance-enhancing drug, but Rousey says testing for marijuana is beyond the athletic commission's rights and an invasion of privacy.

Thank you.

I believe weed to be a performance enhancing drug only in non-physical sports. As a teenager, my batting average went up dramatically after smoking weed. I know that's not a scientific study or anything, but it's a fact (though the same outcome could probably be made with xanax or something.)

Nonsense. I think you would find that marijuana use by a fighter has an affect on pain threshholds. Thus it is performance enhancing. The idea of drug testing in all sports is an equal footing for all competitors. If she can absorb more damage while high...then in essence she is cheating

Weed is performance enhancing....weed makes POTHEADS lazy but it just works as stress relief and a pain reliever for athletes....a pothead will smoke at the gym and then lounge around on the equipment...an athlete will smoke and then start using the equipment, often doing more because the pain is lessened...also, weed helps with the pain applied in submissions and has allowed a Diaz to make it to the end of a round on more than one occasion...

Also, weed is a PED for golfers just like Xanax because it calms the nerves and can allow for a cleaner and smoother swing...

that being said, they way they test for it shows whether it's been used recently, not CURRENTLY under the effects....so the test results should be considered irrelevant...I once got charged for a DUI...the officers asked for a drug test and I said "Sure...can't be used for anything since it doesn't prove anything about my condition while driving, only whether I have smoked in the last few weeks..." and the result was tossed for that very reason...it was irrelevant

Nobody fights while they're high, fool. At least not professionals. As an athlete and occasional smoker myself, I can tell you I'd never be stupid enough to fight on weed. Or play any sport, for that matter. It's performance diminishing, but you'd know that if you had a clue what you were talking about...
