Spurs targeting Beno Udrih trade

02:42 PM ET 02.14 | The San Antonio Spurs usually aren't a team that makes a lot of moves at the trade deadline, since good teams rarely need to make moves to be better. However, San Antonio is apparently open to the idea of a trade this year and have eyes set on a point guard out East. According to Marc Berman of the NY Post, the Spurs may be interested in acquiring former guard Beno Udrih from the New York Knicks. A trade would make sense, as Udrih used to play for the Spurs and San Antonio could use depth at guard. The Wizards apparently want Udrih too, which means it comes down to whether or not the Spurs can make a better deal for the guard or not.

He actually played well enough for them.

The only way I can see this happening if the Spurs are willing to part with a second rd draft pick.....or two.

The Problem here is that they have 2 back-up PGs (Mills and Joseph) who are playing well and a back-up combo guard (de Colo) who has more overall value than Beno.

Oh.....there IS another way this 'trade' happens.....and that's if Coach Pop has a BIG TIME man crush on Beno.

Otherwise.....it ain't gonna happen.

He is not a difference maker. If you can get him cheap than do else pass.

As Knicks fan, I never liked Beno. He makes 2 many mistakes on offense. Woodson blames him 4 losses so I don't c him staying. Hopefully, Knicks can get something useful in return like a good pick.

I liked Beno with the Spurs. Solid backup.

As a Spurs fan I'd be open to him coming back if it was for Cory Joseph or something.
