02:43 PM ET 02.14 | The Los Angeles Lakers seem to typically be in trade rumors every year and almost all of those rumors exclusively revolve around Pau Gasol. This year is no exception, as the Lakers have been shopping him to teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers and Phoenix Suns, but we're starting to get a better idea of what they want in return. According to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell, the Lakers front office is looking to make trades that will impact the 2014-15 season and beyond, which is to say they aren't looking to make immediate upgrades on the roster.

The next 2 years is all about Kobe. Hold everything until the farewell tour is over .

In that case first order of business is trading Kobe.

This is a dumb article everyone in the world knows they aren't going to try trade for an asset that will help them this year, because this year is over for my lakers

Makes no difference if they never get a ring. ...While the Clip are on the way down (albeit without a title) LAL will be back at the top because that's just what they do...

All they need is 16 Championships, 31 Conference titles, 22 more Division banners and nine retired numbers to match the Lakers wall hangings.

And now that they signed Antawn Jamison... only 20 more HOFers as well.

Eli, good point and don't forget the the Clippers will "always" cover up those Lakers "16 Championships, 31 Conference titles, 22 more Division banners and nine retired numbers, that are hanging from the rafters" during their "home" games. After all the Clippers do have "one" Pacific title to showcase. :-)

Yep the lakers are real jealous of everything the clips have accomplished over the years...........

Actually The Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers are the only two teams in the NBA that hang nothing but championship banners. They probably give away division and conference banners to Goodwill.

I think that the Clippers will win the Pacific. Who is their competition? Only the Suns and the Warriors.

Yeah you're probably right in that the Clipps will win the Pacific Division this year, but there is still a ways to go and I like the Warriors to catch them.

I'm pretty sure the Clippers will win the Pacific as well. The Suns are looking pretty good and I hope Golden State falls flat on their faces...

the warriors play too loosey goosey....
their star isn't concerned with winning or defending as much as launching 3's and putting on a show and if you look at their stats- everyones production is down lately cause they are all watching curry.
this team COULD be really solid-
but they rely too much on the jumpshot- so if they are off or play a team that defends-they are in trouble- I expect them to finish as a 6 seed

LA, all you are going to get for the next year or two is Kobe jacking shots. Welcome to skid row after being run into the dirt by a Barry Bonds clone....
