09:08 AM ET 02.15 | Blackhawks prospect Brandon Pirri had always pictured his future being with the Blackhawks. He was drafted by them in the second round of 2009 and had been talked about in recent years as a Rockford IceHogs prospect who could fit in their long-term plans. Pirri isn't so sure about that any longer. He's done the Interstate 90 trip from Rockford to Chicago a few times this season and hasn't stuck with the Blackhawks. Pirri's future with the organization also became slightly more unclear when the Blackhawks acquired center Pete Regin from the New York Islanders and made him their second-line center. As the March 5 NHL trade deadline approaches, Pirri has heard rumors the Blackhawks are shopping him around. He's uncertain what will happen to him in the coming weeks.

"Brandon Pirri unsure of future with Blackhawks"

A little piece of advice for Brandon Pirri: If he wants to stick with a team loaded with skill, he better bring something to the table that'll get him noticed like ... borrowing a page out of Andrew Shaw's playbook.

Hate to say it but, the Russkies were robbed. Quick pushed the net off himself, good goal. But, they have some goofy rules at the IIHF, like the one we saw during the shootout. Having the same guys shooting all night long after the first round is just wrong. Worked for us this time but ... it's stupid. I hate the shootout to begin with. It's a team sport. Win or lose as a team. And, why can't a game in the 1st round end in a tie? Each team gets a point. End of story.

What's disturbing is that Gary Bettman is over there taking notes, looking for "improvements" to our game and something "new" to bring to the NHL next year.

True words, hard to believe that goal didn't count-in Russia no less-but yeah, having the same players in the SO gets old. Not boring, but these are the best of the best they should all get a chance.

Putin looked like he was ready to send his commandos to have a 'chat' with the refs. If I'm one the refs I'd have some lackey taste my food before I eat it.

Probably a good thing the peg was off - I thought the tip was a high stick anyway - but they weren't calling that - and there was no way they were going to. Don't know why they don't have the if it would've been a goal anyway rule leeway, but they don't - don't know if it's a crossbar or shoulder height for a high-stick tip either -- but the puck was travelling downward almost halfway, and went in just under the bar -six inches below at most.
