Team Canada's identity crisis

07:43 AM ET 02.17 | So far in this Olympic tournament, the results are there, even if the style points aren't. Three games into the Olympic hockey tournament and we really don't know what Team Canada is or isn't. They aren't scoring much and they aren't giving up many goals. They control the puck but they actually generate little offence. They show great speed, as do all the great teams here at the Olympics, but seem to be lacking an intangible Canadian trait, passion. They can't score but seem all right not dressing last year's scoring champion, Martin St. Louis, and last year's Norris Trophy winner, P.K. Subban. ... And if you don't think Team Canada is just a little off-centre, consider this: Drew Doughty, a defenceman, has scored four goals in three Olympic games and Sidney Crosby, the NHL's leading scorer, has yet to score.

Crosby isn't the only one who's not scoring at the Olympics. Here's a list of notables: Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, Alexander Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin to name just a few. The higher profile you've had going in, the more attention's paid to you. That doesn't surprise anyone but .... the T*****o Sun

Judging from the pic, it looks like Sidney Crosby's not handling kapusta very well?

Team Canada's identity crisis? Yesterday the announcers couldn't name any USA players:")

I love the hand-wringing in Canada after their team goes 3-0 to start the tournament. I know, it's still a slow start given the lack of scoring against those lower rung teams but you'd think they had lost all three games.

Well ... they're supposed to win every game by at least 6 goals, don't you know! According to the Canadian press it's their Divine right and anything less is a failure.

I think the amount of goals scored figure into the positioning.

Then Russia must be ready to call out the firing squad with the talent they have.

Its a better start to the tourny for Canada then Salt Lake or Vancouver.

Wonder if it has anything to do with the yellow water and lumpy beds.

They can't even catch a break from the media when they're winning.

Time to get inspired Team Canada. I've trash talked too many Americans for you to mess this up for us lol
p.s Identity? Just say Team Canada lacks passion. Hardly identity crisis.

Let's not get too carried away, we also live in a pernicious police state, and don't have fair elections, and it's getting worse virtually every minute - with a group of non-democratic neo-fascists firmly in charge, and constantly attempting to tighten their grip - hey, at least Put-sa doesn't wear a vanity toupee (merkin?) I'm just hoping for some decent hockey.

Just saying, I'd gladly give up all of the golds for a federal general election announcement, or charges being laid against any and all cabinet members senators, privy councilors, and staff members that have broken laws of the land.

Cindy Crosby doesn't have the benefit of the Buttgoblin telling the referees to let him score

Because the ref's are playing goal, too?

Crosby seems to score at the most telling moments.

Coincidence no more.
He's always on the top line and the top line is always on the ice in the most telling moments. He's bound to get the goal 1/3 times at least.
