06:59 AM ET 02.18 | Very few places in the world could have cost Matt Garza so much while on vacation. Why didn't [Garza] jump at that four-year, $52 million offer from the Los Angeles Angels in December? Bad timing, he said Monday in Milwaukee Brewers camp. "They offered, but it was more of a weird situation," said Garza, who wound up getting $50 million in guaranteed money from Milwaukee. "I was on vacation with my wife and I didn't want to be disturbed, and it was like, 'Here it is, we'll pull it in a certain amount of hours.' I didn't have a chance to respond, so I just said, 'Whatever. It is what it is.'" He added: "It wasn't anything big. It was an offer and I said, 'I'm on vacation. I'm not thinking about baseball, Dude. Me and my wife are enjoying ourselves.'" Garza and wife Serina were in Turks and Caicos at the time.

Who ended up with the worst end of that incident: Garza, or the Angels?

I suppose there's no chance that the real reason he didn't respond is because he didn't like the offer.

I don't think the Angels gave him time to even think about it or discuss it with his family before they pulled it back.

Maybe, who knows what 'a certain number of hours' means? It could have been anywhere from two to two hundred hours. He made it clear that his response was he didn't want to be disturbed. You can disturb me any time you'd like with a $52 million offer.

I'll give you 52 million dollars if you go stand in the middle of Harlem and yell "****."

Let me see what it costs to rent a Seal team for 30 minutes.

I changed my mind, there's no need for a Seal team. I'll hire Jay-Z to provide a rap dj and band along with his body guards so we can call it rapping. Can I get proof of this $52 million before I take on these expenses?

Now he's not thinking about two million dollars or pitching for a team that could be in contention for a playoff spot. Dude.

Actually - I appreciate his stance. His time with family - is time with family. Not many guys would take that stance and good for him. It cost 2 million - so how much is enough - evidently his family is worth at least 2 million...

These guys are getting so rich that a few million bucks is petty cash to them. Like Dempster walking away from $13.5million because he felt like it.

He took the better deal money wise. Garza will keep more money from the Brewers due to the higher taxes in California.

I know I don't like to be rushed into important decisions or have my vacation interupted.
Don't blame the man one bit.

He'll spend a lot more time away from them now that he's working in the midwest instead of California.

He's away from the bad Press of LA, you have to place a value on that!!!
