07:02 AM ET 02.18 | Coming on the heels of a dispiriting loss, this was certainly not what Spartans fans would want to hear. For about 20 minutes Monday, Keith Appling was facing the end of his career at Michigan State. That was before Tom Izzo clarified his comment that "shutting him down" meant the end of the regular season, not the entire season. "I guess I've got to be careful -- I'll restate it, I guess I appreciate it if everybody took it the same way, that's my stupidity," Izzo said when asked to clarify on his initial news conference statement. "But if it isn't better today, tomorrow, I can't worry about (him playing against) Purdue and Michigan. ... You just have to worry about getting him healthy for the Big Ten tournament and the NCAA tournament."

Hopefully healthy for a late March run. This is the best team in college this yr but they need to get healthy. Valentine, Dawson, Appling & Payne have missed about 40+ games between them. Just now looking healthy and back to full strength.

Yo, BB. Top o' the morning to ya in the Great White North. Will the Bucks make any improvement in time to make an impact in the B1G post-season tourney?

A cautious yes Harley. The team seems to have coalesced when Shannon Scott went to Thad and said "take me out of the starting 5 and let me come off the bench". I had been making the same observation to co-workers during the slide.... to wit: with two point guards on the floor (neither of which is an offensive juggernaut) they did not have enough offense.

Switch to Thompson as the starter and Scott off the bench (at times to spell Craft) and the team has been more cohesive and getting better offensive looks. They went through a rough stretch but have come out of it on the other end a better team.

They are not FF material but I can see them doing some damage in the Dance.
