07:32 AM ET 02.19 | While speculation swirls, Carmelo Anthony believes he will know more than the average fan. [Anthony] said he expects to be consulted if the Knicks have a big deal they are considering at Thursday's trade deadline that would affect their long-term future. The Knicks still are trying to land Boston point guard Rajon Rondo, intensifying their efforts the past two weeks, but appear to lack the required assets for Celtics general manager Danny Ainge, who wants a package of first-round picks. ... A source told The Post recently Rondo would love to play for the Knicks not just because of his friendship with Anthony, but because he would love to compete against Brooklyn's Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, his former Celtics teammates.

The Knicks name keeps coming up but they have no picks, so no deal. Ainge is cleaning house but only at the right price.

Unless they can acquire assets from a third (or fourth) team and that's highly unlikely, the Knicks are stuck.

And are now BELOW the Cavs in the EC standings.

Yup.
Rondos value, coming off the injury , is at its lowest.....

Hardaway is their only trade chip other than Melo. They've got nobody.

These threads have become quiet without Mecca, Mick and MMA contributing to the discussion.

The Mighty (Eastern leading) Raptors shown interest in Rondo. However I think it's still too early after his return from ACL to gamble on him.

Rondo needs to get a clue. As a member of the Celts (and any number of other teams besides the Knicks) he can compete against Brooklyn's Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, his former Celtics teammates.

And "whipped cream on the pile of dog poo"! Good one, M3at.

The Celtics are rebuilding. You put Rondo on the Knicks and they are a lot better than the rebuilding Celtics.
