Browns to avoid Clowney with No. 4 pick?

11:36 AM ET 02.19 | South Carolina defensive standout Jadeveon Clowney is expected to be a top-five pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, but there are questions about where he will fall within those first five picks. If Clowney slides past the Houston Texans and St. Louis Rams, that would leave the Jacksonville Jaguars in position to make him their first-round pick. Should Jacksonville pass on Clowney, it appears that he will still be on the board when the Oakland Raiders are on the clock at pick No. 4 because rumor has it that the Cleveland Browns will be avoiding Clowney.

Nothing personifies success like the Browns drafting history

When asked about the possibility Clowney replied, "Please Lord, not Oakland."

So they don't want Manziel, Clowney, don't want to win.....

Not sure why. They have a talented young D that was top 10 this year. Add a player like Clowney and they could approach elite status. That should buy them a little time to get the O going with whoever they decide to put out there at QB. This is the Browns FO we are talking about here though soo.....

It's the old "Rumor has it..." bit.

I guess you can consider it "avoiding" a player when he's already off the board.

Sorry hack writers of FanSided, he ain't making it to #4.

Clowney is jumping up and down knowing that the worst front office in the NFL does not want him in Cleveland.

The Browns remind me of Krusty the Klown losing big when he bet on the Generals beating the Harlem Globe Trotters because he figured they were due.
