Saudners denies Love report

07:33 AM ET 02.20 | Even before Wednesday, Minnesota hosted more than its share of deadline headlines. All-Star forward Kevin Love's name has come up repeatedly, but there have been strong indications that the Wolves are not looking to deal Love before Thursday's 2 p.m. deadline. However, longtime NBA columnist Peter Vecsey made waves late Wednesday night when he sent out a series of tweets claiming Love, who is under contract until 2015, is "forcing a premature exit." ... In what was seemingly a direct counter to Vecsey's comments, Wolves president of basketball operations Flip Saudners issued a tweet shortly after, firmly refuting any rumors of a forthcoming trade. "@Flip_Saunders: Rumors of Love telling me he's opting out & wants 2 b traded r false. Last convo I had w/ him was him telling me how bad my sports coat was."

How can they spell Saunders wrong twice? Love will get traded next year.

Lol on the Saudners. Yeah he is out of there next year. Unless they get extremely lucky in the draft he is out of there. The west is too tough for tough for him to stay on that team and expect to make the playoffs. Boston is setting themselves up to be in the Love sweepstakes with all the picks they have.

That sounds about right. He'll be better if he was in the east. Why not the Sixers making a run at him this coming summer instead? Cs already have a Love-type player in Sully. Maybe they'll include Sully w/ some high draft picks for Love.

flip is so clueless- no matter what he does,
I fully expect him to screw the situation up

Philly is not making a deal for him. I would like to have him but I don't see it happening. The majority of teams have to draft and develop their own talent. Then there are a few teams with max players and few teams in large markets capable of getting a max player. The rest are stuck overpaying for talent.

They will have to deal one day. It makes sense to move him when they can maximize the return.

Saunders was/is the face of a group that wants to buy the Twolves from the owner. Glen Taylor said he wants to sell the team, just not right now. Taylor has a long history of keeping employees who are friends far beyond when another owner would have fired them...(See Kevin McHale).

The friendship that exists between Taylor and Saunders even after he was fired plays a role in Saunders coming back to the team and will play a role in the selling of the team. IMO Saunders was brought in to help bridge the gap between Taylor and the New owners. If that is true, Saunders will not get fired either way.
