07:25 AM ET 02.21 | Another day, another headline for Washington Redskins tight end Fred Davis. [Davis] was arrested Thursday afternoon in Fairfax County and charged with driving under the influence, a Fairfax County Police Department spokesperson confirmed. The arrest comes just a day after Davis was suspended indefinitely Wednesday by the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Yesterday, at 3:45 p.m., Fairfax County police arrested Davis at the corners of Gallows Road and Leesburg Pike. No further details of the incident were available as of late Thursday night. Davis, who signed a one-year contract with the Redskins before last season, was set to become a free agent next month. The Redskins didn't have interest in re-signing him even before the suspension.

Sad when you see young guys throwing away their future.

Now you can tell the judge that you cannot afford a lawyer or pay your fines since your pay check is suspended.

I always tried to make that a teaching point for my kids. How these athletes, with life made, will throw it all away on drugs, alcohol, or whatever.

hmm,....maybe [hopefully] they'll have former players who've lost it all to (wine/women/song/greedy-family/bad-investments/etc.) speak at those rookie-symposiums this year,.....and ''maybe'' a former gay nfl-player could speak to ..??

Getting a DUI on a weekday afternoon is a sign of a serious problem... Hope he gets help before something worse happens.

Lost 4 games to drug suspension in 11.

Injured in 12.

Never the same in 13 and mostly a healthy scratch until the Skins ran out of TEs down the stretch.
