09:37 AM ET 02.21 | After winning Super Bowl XLVIII, it is only natural that the Seattle Seahawks will be in danger of losing many of their top free agents as teams around the league look to add a Super Bowl champion to their roster. So when free agency kicks off in March, Seattle will need to immediately decide which players they cannot afford to lose and quickly make them some offers. As far as general manager John Schneider is concerned, re-signing wide receiver Golden Tate is going to be a big priority.

IMO they should let him walk.

I've seen estimates of teams offering Golden Tate contracts nearing $5 million per year. And Seattle has less than $10 million worth of cap space to play with.

More importantly they need to plan for the future. Next year Richard Sherman hits free agency. The following year it's Russell Wilson. They need to start making space right now.

Golden is in the prime period of his career.
He's won a SB, now it's time to do the proverbial, "feed the family".
Take the most guaranteed money wherever you find it fella, NFL careers are short.

No surprise there.
