09:29 AM ET 02.23 | With Broward County expected to give the Panthers a bailout to help cover their losses, it will be easier for new owner Vinnie Viola to stick to his plan to allow GM Dale Tallon to spend up to the $71 million NHL cap next season. The Panthers are expected to have more than $30 million in cap space and can clear even more by dumping several veterans, including Scottie Upshall, by the March 5 trade deadline. The Panthers have asked for an $80 million buyout to help cover what they say are $30 million annual losses; the Broward commission likely will give the Panthers something, but it's undetermined how much.

Get this team to Quebec City.....pronto.

As long as the old Nordiques jerseys stay!

Ok.....even if they don't, but they should stay! Great jersey! IMO.

If i was a tax payer in that County i would be looking to kick my political representatives in the ****

Another desperate attempt to make hockey work in Miami. Forget it, might as well be in Havana. Move them to Seattle pronto! Quebec makes sense too but this league needs more east-west balance so another west coast team makes more sense.

QUOTE(#14):

And if you two morons did any research before making stupid comments you would find that not one cent is being paid by a Broward County taxpayer in this deal. The funny part about the truth in all of this is that most of the money will be coming out of Canadians who come to South Florida as it is all coming out of the TOURIST TAX (better known as the Hotel & Bed Tax). LOL.......

As if Florida residents don't use Florida Hotels.
