04:11 PM ET 02.24 | The Atlanta Falcons are currently sitting in the No. 6 overall slot in the NFL Draft this May, but they might not be sitting there long. While the Falcons have a few pressing needs on their roster, general manager Thomas Dimitroff has shown a desire to execute another blockbuster trade and this could see the team moving up to No. 2 overall. According to ESPN.com, the Rams could be looking to trade down -- something we've been hearing a lot lately -- and should the Texans pass on Jadeveon Clowney at No. 1 overall, that could logically set up a scenario where Atlanta moves up.

if they want a player that will work when he wants to that's a good choice.

Part of the reason Atlanta is struggling is due to how many draft picks they parted with to trade up for Julio Jones.

But sure, relive your mistakes. You're only one player away.

You can't deny that Jones is a great player when healthy. But trading picks like they did hurts the future.

See: Minnesota (Hershel Walker), Washington (RG3-10) and New Orleans (Ricky Williams).

I never blamed him for mailing it in when he was a certain top-5 pick the year before he was eligible. The NFL and NCAA's "agreement" goes against fair labor.

That's the thing... I don't care how good the player is. When you forfeit roster depth, you mortgage the future.

If you end up with a HOF QB it's worth it. But that's it.

I believe when the Skins did it they were unaware the Cap Penalty was about to happen. That took care if any depth.

The history of the Skins was trading #1s for players. Art Monk was their first #1 pick in forever.

This thread is awry therefore......"the N word in the NFL issue" Really? First of all, why the NFL? Uh, perhaps because this sport along with NBA is 90% African "American" and I use this term loosely. How many of these athletes were born in Africa? Are you American or not? Yes, until its not convienient. Like women in the military, black, female, gay, etc. The Media is making an issue of Ns calling each other Ns? Good luck..... What would it be like hypothetically if no blacks were involved?

Atlanta, I appreciate your willingness to give up picks to move up. But doing this ever 2-3 years, doesn't seem like sound team building, and some of those missed picks are starting to show....

Its funny Dimitroff came from New England, where they usually trade down and hord draft picks. He seems to do the opposite, mortgage the future every couple years to chase that one special player
