Thunder really, really wanted Iman Shumpert

07:31 AM ET 02.25 | At 43-14, there's no reason to weep for Oklahoma City, which doesn't mean all is perfect. [The] Thunder's last two losses have exposed a need for the Western Conference favorite: perimeter defense. Miami's Dwyane Wade and the Los Angeles Clippers' Jamal Crawford combined to score 60 points on 65 percent shooting. ... [Outside] of starting 2-guard Thabo Sefolosha, Oklahoma City provides very little resistance in the backcourt. That's why the Thunder were hoping to land Iman Shumpert before last Thursday's trade deadline. Even after Shumpert suffered a strained left MCL in a Knicks loss last Wednesday, Oklahoma City was willing to part with this season's first-round draft pick to land the Knicks shooting guard, according to sources with knowledge of the trade discussions.

QUOTE(#1):

The clippers deal would have been better if the Knicks could have unloaded Felonius Felton in the deal....I do think Iman has shown that he is at least better than a second round pick.....but shows something that even the thunder that are in the position that they are in ( western favorites ) think highly of the kid....the knicks suck

Yup! Shumpert has his ups and downs. His defense is fine but w/ the knee injury it will slow him down in the future.

I feel bad for shump as the Knicks have , for some reason, have been mind-fracking him since he came back from his acl last year.

The fat lady has not only officially sung after last night .....
But now she has a fat friend singing about NEXT year as they bring back the same exact team with no draft pick.

I strongly encourage knick fans to join me on the nomad bus come draft night, when they will have likely had the #4 pick.....and Denver takes Marcus smart

The Clippers never really wanted to trade for Shumpert to begin with. They solely led negotiations long enough to keep the Thunder from acquiring him. It was all fools gold to keep Shump from the Thunder.

Yep...I posted the same thing yesterday.

I can't believe the Knicks turned down a #1 pick for Shumpert because they were not getting another player in return.

Nobody on the Thunder roster, short of Durant, could have made them contenders this Season. So, they should have taken the deal.
