07:45 AM ET 02.26 | The lack of NHL trade activity may have surprised Tim Murray, but he holds the keys to shaking things up on the trade front. [The] kindling is in place and a fire sale is ready to ignite. Ryan Miller and Steve Ott should keep their cellphones close. The trade deadline is a week from today, and Murray is ready to deal. In fact, it's his option of choice in regards to Miller. "Our goal right now, I think on both sides, is to pursue a proper trade," Murray said before the Sabres' 3-2 victory over Carolina in First Niagara Center on a late goal by Christian Ehrhoff. Miller's exit has been forecast for the better part of a year, but it has never seemed so inevitable. "I know they're kind of looking around for opportunity," Miller said. "I think that's probably best for everybody."

If I remember correctly, he's been wanting out of Buffalo for a couple of years now. Problem is .... he only wants to go to teams that don't want him.

I kind of agree with Miller. After all the "stuff" that's been said concerning him, its just best to move on. I still don't think Buffalo is going to get all that much for him though.

Ott would be a nice pickup for a playoff team. Good little grinder.

Wow.....who would have guessed that he wants out of a team he helped take apart. Good thing he isn't going to Boston!

Dion Phaneuf is the best defenceman in the league, maybe the best defenceman in the past decade of NHL play. The Leafs paid Yzerman big $$$ to leave him off Team Canada so he can be ready to lead the Blue and White to glory.

The master plan in full effect!

Gold for Canada; Cup to TO.

The must have paid big $$$ to Burkie to slow Kessel andJVR down at the end too. Don't want them getting burnt out lifting a medal or anything....
