Can Cleveland keep Masterson?

07:48 AM ET 02.28 | Credit Justin Masterson for being an optimist. Perhaps that's what prompted him to tell reporters Thursday that he felt "somehow, someway" he would end up pitching for the Indians for a "few more years." Here is exactly what Masterson said after pitching a scoreless first inning in the Tribe's 12-3 exhibition victory over Cincinnati at Goodyear Ballpark, "I figure somehow, someway I'll end up still being here for a few more years." On Feb. 19, Masterson and the Indians avoided arbitration by settling on a one-year deal worth $9,726,500. The two sides agreed to keep talking about a multiyear deal, but the prospects didn't seem realistic because of the six-year $105 million deal Homer Bailey signed with the Reds on March 20. It's a dagger that cannot be removed from these negotiations.

Pena likely to be released by the disciplined halos team, and Dodgers could/may open their gates to a passive Pena!!

Hope that was rhetorical. Cleveland cannot compete in any major sport.

Too many uncertainties. I think they'll end up at triple-A somewhere around mid-season.

pitching its a top priority except the Indians aren't too convenced about the inquirements!!

February 28, 2014  09:30 AM ET

there are teams who think and would assume, pitching shouldn't be too considerable rather their focus in offense, but pitching catching its the key to more credibility results!!
