01:32 PM ET 02.28 | One reason the Bears were even in a position to make the postseason was thanks to the heroic play of backup quarterback Josh McCown. After Jay Cuter was lost for an extended period of time, McCown played so well that it actually started a debate about whether or not he should replace Cutler as the full-time starter in 2014. McCown doesn't want to replace Cutler, but he does want to return to Chicago in 2014. According to the Chicago Tribune, McCown has expressed an 'overwhelming desire' to re-sign with the Bears for another season.

Why not? Cutler never stays healthy.

Haven't seen him lately, now that you've mentioned his name.

Be weary of overwhelming desires Josh, it has placed many a fine young lad in a most precarious position.

Like standing on a roof next to a bedroom window, stark naked, 15 feet above a rockery, waiting for her boyfriend to leave the room so you can get your clothes back?

Like sending pix of one's junk to a fine young lass? Seems fun at the time but can have rather detrimental effects.

The voice of experience is the greatest teacher.

At least he didn't say that God told him to sign with the Bears. But ... it's still early. Stay tuned!

Exactly. And the fan base loves him after last year.

Exactly. Earn good money to learn you craft, then get a chance to put what you learned to the test in real games, and hopefully increase your value.

Great for the Bears.

DA BEARS!!

He's hibernating until the OTAs etc.

Hey he had a few good games in his career. He also was saying he may retire, he may not retire, he may go elsewhere. Obviously his agent said, "look stupid, if Cutler screws up again this could be your team, stay here dumb a@%."

Pleases me and I haven't seen any Melman posts in weeks.
