Mark Murphy, the Green Bay Packers' new president and CEO, said Wednesday that he believes Packers quarterback Brett Favre will return next season. Murphy said that he had spoken with Favre on a couple of occasions, but did not say how those conversations went. "We all anticipate that he'll make a decision very soon," he said. "Probably this week some time. Before the end of the month."

The Packers should be proactive in the free agency this off season on the Defensive side of the ball. A strong defense will help keep Favre's mistakes in big games at a minimum.

Arent many that I care whether they play or not, having been to Lambeau the last 3 times the niners have played there (all lossses) I hope Favre plays till he is 50. He is good for the Packers, the game, the NFL.
You think will all his cash, he could "pay the dough" to get the damn pronunciation on his name. Farve instead of Favre

Great, now we will have the TD's flooded with: WILL FAVRE STAY OR WILL HE GO???

I am so looking forward to retirement. Maybe he dosnt have any hobbies. May I suggest bridge, photography, and blogging? Great way to whittle way the next 50 years of downtime.

No offense to Pack fans but doesnt it feel like the team is held hostage every year while Brett makes his "decision" ? I think thats pretty strange that an entire NFL organization has to wait to make decisions until one player takes a dew weeks off, reflects, checks his retirement funds, checking account etc ..
EVery year around this time, theirs a Clash song that I cant get out of my head.

I agree KP. While he is singing Should I go or should I stay now...the Pack must find it difficult to work the offseason agenda.

Astro? Changing your image?

February 28, 2008  08:07 AM ET

I'm pretty sure he is going to die on the field.

Everyone should just assume he is going to play, until he says otherwise.
