bad bad idea

February 28, 2008  07:47 AM ET

Bad for the Rams. Good for free agency and anyone willing to pay $ to get him.

Forger Ocho and Moss, the Redskins may end up with someone like this. Not all bad. Not bad at all.

February 28, 2008  08:09 AM ET

He's at the end of the line. Not worth the $2M ...

February 28, 2008  08:22 AM ET

He may be at the end of the line, but what a great player this guy has been! Truly a great receiver who lived up to the hype....

I will miss Isaac Bruce when he hangs it up!

February 28, 2008  08:33 AM ET

He can still be an effective No.3 and No.2 on some teams.

C'MON PITTSBURGH!!!!

What a tragic way to end a great career with the Rams. I;ve basically hated the Rams since they left LA (more accurately since Georgia took over the team), but recognize what a great Wide Receiver Bruce was. I guess its another case when stayin around too long forces the ugly hand of the business of Football.

Don't forget that the Rams cut Bruce last year, too. He was off the roster for about a week, then restructured his contract for the good of the team. Don't be surprised if the exact same thing doesn't happen this year. He may get cut, only to end up back in blue and gold a few days later.

nice, i would take bruce on the eagles any day.

February 28, 2008  09:19 AM ET

His end of the line is still better than most receivers top of the line game.....Great choice for a lot of teams. Will not tie up money long term and will be reasonably priced in todays market....

This is what kills me about he NFL. Fans get on players for wanting more money or wanting ot leave their team, but look at what the Rams are doing. They are doing what is best for business. But when a player does the same thing he is bing selfish or not a team player. Like Jay-Z said he is not a business man he is a BUSINESS MAN! Each player is an individual company and every company is out to make money. The Rams crapped on Bruce last year and doing it again this year . . . but it is all business . . ..get yours while you can, cause you can/will get cut at a moments notice.

Bruce, one of the greatest WR ive seen in my young life, belongs in St. Louis... hope he takes the pay cut and stays... but $2 mil is the least the Rams can give this guy for all he has done for them during his career

Players aren't paid for what they've done, they're paid for what they can do in the future. The Rams saw something that leads them to believe that Ike's talent has dropped off. I hate to see it happen to Bruce, but that's the business.

I can't recall who they were playing but I'm pretty sure it was either a Sunday night or Monday night game. Maybe even a Thursday night game?

Either way, Bruce was unconcious in that game. Dazzling catches along the sidelines. Hands TO could only dream of having.

He still has something left in the tank to give to whomever could work out a deal.

He's a quality WR who still has game left. He'll be playing somewhere next season.
