The league's rumor mill is abuzz with indications that the Vikings will pursue Bears receiver Bernard Berrian and Cincinnati safety Madieu Williams, among others. Bengals defensive end Justin Smith -- who, like Williams, played for current Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier in Cincinnati -- is another possible target.

who in the hell would want to play for the Queens, this team is horrible.

February 28, 2008  08:23 AM ET

The Vikings might want to obtain someone with passing ability.

February 28, 2008  08:23 AM ET

Berrian will want to go somewhere with an established offense and QB.

Like New England.
I tell ya, don't be surprised.

Get these three guys and I'll be happy, the three needs the team has. I think what a few of you meant is with Berrian, TJack will finally have a weapon to throw to. Berrian, Sidney Rice (if he comes along, and Wade in the slot is actually semi decent. Too bad Shiancoe still blows.

berrian isnt even all that great, why is there such a fuss over him? its not like he is up there with the other good wr's who are free agents.

February 28, 2008  09:46 AM ET

You have to think.......he had 951yds with those bad QB's...........I thought the same until I watched some of their games over again and watched him get better and better.

February 28, 2008  09:49 AM ET

Of all people, you'd think that Berrian would want to go somewhere with a QB. Hasn't he had enough of that already?

February 28, 2008  10:01 AM ET

As a Bears fan im loving this... a QB who cant throw (Jackson) passing to a WR with terrible hands (Berrian)... 2 bad my team is in the same boat

February 28, 2008  10:05 AM ET

Do you think if we put T. Jackson out there as trade bait .. we could possibly get a t-shirt cannon for him??

February 28, 2008  10:30 AM ET

But for an X Large you will need to sweeten the deal

February 28, 2008  10:31 AM ET

For a cannon that shoots X Large t shirts

February 28, 2008  11:09 AM ET

Berrian had highlight-reel plays, but he dropped so many passes (6?) on 3rd down. Berrian subbed a 5y/$25 mil offer last night, so its obvious he's moving on. Now they need to replace their #1 and #2 WRs. The draft has to be the pivotal factor on keeping Angelo.

Damn. McCaskeys.

February 28, 2008  11:22 AM ET

The Vikings should take a shot at Berrian. I think Tavaris Jackson is not as bad as some people think. Those receivers are brutal.com/atrocious. They should try to sign Berrian and also draft another receiver as well. Sidney Rice looks like he has some potential but will probably not reach it fully until his 4th year.

February 28, 2008  11:44 AM ET

It would make a very good fit for the Vikes they really don't have an outstanding receiver that's really a deep threat.

February 28, 2008  11:50 AM ET

Berrian isnt a household name because the bears QB situation always is getting outta hand so it overtakes the talent he has.....even with no QB he still almost had a 1000 yard receiving year....

and 5 years at 25 mill...id probably sign him to 5 for 30 mill...

he's not a top tier talent but he's young and FAST

February 28, 2008  11:56 AM ET

Oh yeah! Bring em on! We need all 3, plus a QB. They cut Holcomb, so is McNabb or Anderson next to come in????

Has me excited again, i am SO HAPPY that they are at least doing something and not sitting back and accepting their mediocre roster.

We could kick some butt next year with a real QB, receivers and DE. YES!!!!!!!!!!!

Smitty75

What are you talking about?! This team is a QB and a receiver away from greatness. They possibly have the best O line in football, plus the best up and coming back. Add a really decnt DE and these guys will be in the thick of it.
