ASU has plans for Erickson
Arizona State football coach Dennis Erickson will receive a one-year contract extension through the 2012 season if the Arizona Board of Regents approves the request at meeting on March 6-7 in Tempe. If approved, Erickson also will receive a $100,000 bonus for being named 2007 Pac-10 Coach of the Year and directing ASU to a Pac-10 co-championship and 10-3 record. ASU also plans to review its contract with Erickson each January regarding an extension. Erickson's guaranteed salary increases from $500,000 in 2007 to $1,275,000 annually for 2008-2011 under terms of his original contract.

Well, he did have a good season. He had a good recruiting class and this is probably the end of the road for him. Unless one of the powerhouses in College Football has an opening, he is going to be at Arizona State for awhile.

Going to be at Arizona State for awhile???... If by awhile... You mean 2 or 3 years... Yeah... Your right... The first big-name program to throw money at him... The only thing your going to see from him... Is a vapor trail

I'd rather see him leave the Pac-10. He's a well-decorated coach and he embarassed Mike Stoops on the recruiting trail this year.

To be honest, I want to see the PAC 10 become stronger for two reasons: 1). to stop everyone from making USC their "statement" game. and 2). To put up better wins against non-conference opponents.
