Go get the money.

Get an education, then go get the money. It's sad and pathetic that the NCAA and NBA have made things such a joke. Schools are doing nothing more than using that one year to make money for them and fulfill the NBA's requirement of one year of school. That's deplorable behavior by both.

I agree with what Michael Jordan said in an interview before: either four years of school or age 21.

Stay in school hommie, you got Jennings in there next year and one more year of Budinger and Hill experience. Who could compete with that?

limiting it until you are 21 would be the best thing to do ... but kids like LeBron make going to college crazy.

it's not a story when a college player decides to try for the NBA -- it's only news if a kid decides to stay in school and graduate and then try for the NBA

I agree with silverblack23, I'd love to see Bayliss go pro though (ASU fan).

If he's the third or fourth pick, he needs to go. He'll get enough money to go back to school if he feels like it. Let's be realistic, less than half of the kids with enough talent to make it to the NBA are not "students" to start with. The school and the NCAA are already making money off of him. Time for him to earn some for himself.

stay in "school" for another year. do it not for yourself, since you would make millions in the pros, but for me as a diehard cats fan who would selfishly love to see you, jennings, hill and budinger in the starting line-up next year. that would equal a championship!

he should stay, only if Lute Olson is back. He will be a better player. But if KO is still in charge, then he should just go the NBA.

I agree with Skybill. Then if your NBA career doesn't work out, you'll have something to fall back on. It's a good idea.

I wish like crazy the NBA would raise the age (or education) limit.
They never will though....too much money to be made and the NBA is already hurting for fans...they need to keep pumping more "star players" in


As a college fan, it makes it harder to feel proud of your team if you win with some one-and-done superstars

I have to say, as much as I HATE Florida....I respect those guys for staying in college another year and making it memorable. That is very rare these days for that kind of talent.


On the other hand, we can't kid ourselves and pretend a lot of these big time players go to college for an education. I know a lot of them come from tough backgrounds and athletics is their only real shot to earn a good living for themselves.

Just makes it rough as a college fan.

Most of you guys (fans) have never met Jerryd let alone spoken with him.
HE IS A VERY SMART MAN! He KNOWS about the NBA, via his close contact with Gil for the past 4 years. Gil regrets not staying another year or two. JB knows that with an intact team next year, with Wise or Jennings coming off the bench (via JT), and an actual center in Jacobson and Withey, Hill will move to PF and Chase back to the 3, The U of A WILL BE IN CONTENTION FOR A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. He doesn't want to ride the pine for a year or two, like Gil did. He wants to come in and start right away. Gil's been passing his knowledge onto Jerryd for a while now. The only reason Jerryd was considering goin' pro was because it was thought that KO would be back at the helm next year, after Livingood's decision to state that he'd be the eventual successor to Lute, and Lute's health problems didn't help.
The reason Lute announced early that he'd be back was because he'd spoken to Jerryd AND Chase regarding their possible departures and his health, and they thought, along with many, many others, that he needed to go on record, especially for incoming recruits, that he'd be The Man through 2011, and that the health issue IS NOT a big deal...and it's not, trust me. How KO was handling practices, games, etc, was a separate issue. They, along with Jawann, Pastner and Simon told him the truth about KO and his inability to reason or think beyond his own set-in-stone policies. They were told to state that KO was doing a good job, and not to really comment much on anything else. But behind the scenes, Lute solidified ALL of his recruits via daily phone calls and a few visits.
