If Arizona mangement has half a brain they will keep Fitz there

March 2, 2008  09:21 AM ET

That would SUCK!

Every year the Eagles stock up on CB's, OT's, and DE's.....but never on a GREAT WR. This would definitely put the Eagles back near the top of the NFC East.

Cowboys vs. Eagles would be some crazy games next year.

Tigers is OFTG Champ!

That is exactly the problem in Arizona, They don't have half a brain.

March 2, 2008  09:36 AM ET

Well it is their problem for working Larry Fitzgerald's contract all wrong.

He counts as 32 Million on the Cap for the Next two seasons........That is a Killer blow.......You can get a first round pick back for him and hopefully get a Rookie that can come in from day 1 and play......Not too likely thought.

March 2, 2008  09:38 AM ET

this has been a rumor for a while. If philly could pick him up itd be great. All mcnabb needs is a true #1 WR. They always pick up these really good 2 and 3 WRs but not a #1 since T.O., and look where that got them...

March 2, 2008  09:43 AM ET

Arizona gave him that whack contract and now they don't want to pay the man. It's no wonder this franchise is a perennial loser. I would like to see him stay and make the play-offs.

March 2, 2008  09:48 AM ET

That would be huge if Philly got Fitzgerald. McNabb could use him that's for sure.

March 2, 2008  09:50 AM ET

if he got traded, that would just prove that arizona management have absolutely no brains at all, which they were starting to disprove in the past few seasons.

March 2, 2008  09:53 AM ET

He is untradeable unless he agrees to rework his contract, and he would be a fool to do that. Not going anywhere..

March 2, 2008  10:19 AM ET

In philly the rumor was Sheppard and our 19th overall pick to arizona for fitz.. i don't know if that deal is still in the talks.

March 2, 2008  10:44 AM ET

I don't think this will work money-wise...

March 2, 2008  11:27 AM ET

They have one of the best one-two punches at WR in the league, don't screw yourself cards.

March 2, 2008  11:32 AM ET

I thought the cards had more brains than that the eagles don't need anything (except a wr and im hoping it does not happen)

March 2, 2008  11:36 AM ET

50yrfan,
You gotta think though that going to Philadelphia would make him want to re-structure his contract. They can win and with him, they will be at least 10-6.

Plus, Fitz has already made more money than most WR's out there......I think he wants to win. Larry would extended Donovan's playing time too.

I love it when the NFC East gets better. That means better games between the Cowboys and whoever they play.

cowboys rule all

Couldn't agree with you more, doesn't make any sense to trade Fitz but then again it is the Arizona Cardinals we are talking about.

March 2, 2008  12:17 PM ET

trade lito for bryant johnson! i dont think the birds can land figtz

March 2, 2008  12:22 PM ET

This won't happen because I'm an Eagles fan

March 2, 2008  12:28 PM ET

It won't happen.....Fitz isn't a CB or lineman.

Even if they do get him, McNabb will still find something to whine about.

March 2, 2008  12:54 PM ET

They have to trade because of his contract, they won't be able to keep any of their other players in a couple of years if they keep him. And he isn't going to take a pay cut that pays him less in the second year, and it won't be enough to help the cards. Yeah they screwed this up when they did his contract, but they will screw this up even more if they keep him now.
