Parcells: Fins won't trade Taylor

Bill Parcells forged a two-front attack on the Yahoo.com story that reported the split between Jason Taylor and the Dolphins. First, he said it was simply wrong. Then he said it was a case of ``journalistic irresponsibility.'' ''It is not true,'' Parcells said. ``The only way Jason Taylor doesn't play for the Dolphins in 2008 is if he retires. The team is not going to trade him.''

Yeah sure, as long as Taylor doesn't get the money he wants....then he can stay or retire.

March 3, 2008  07:32 AM ET

I hope he is being honest and that he is not going anywhere.

March 3, 2008  07:41 AM ET

I've seen Parcells talk out of both sides before..
I doubt Taylor leaves too but you never know with Bill.

March 3, 2008  08:03 AM ET

Bill is just trying to grab the reins of this horse before it veers off the trail.

He is putting together a team that will be competitive this season and Jason Taylor is part of that plan.

March 3, 2008  08:24 AM ET

SO who do you believe...Parcells or the Press? Lately the news media has been far less than accurate and objective.

March 3, 2008  08:33 AM ET

You tell them, big Tuna!

GO FINS!

March 3, 2008  09:01 AM ET

Can't really see the fins unloading Taylor. With all the difficulties of last season, it would not make much sense to release a player of his caliber.

trade him for picks while u still can

I agree... preferably to Dallas... First and second rounders would make for a great trade while completing the transition that started with cutting his brother in law Zack Thomas.

March 3, 2008  12:13 PM ET

i would take a 1st and 2nd for taylor in a heartbeat if i was the fins

March 3, 2008  04:37 PM ET

Taylor is the man.

I want to see Taylor in another pro-bowl. Too bad his buddy Thomas left.

Those were the terrible two.

Here's hoping for Miami's recovery.

March 3, 2008  05:00 PM ET

"If we want him - he will come". Mr. Bill Belechick.

March 3, 2008  06:01 PM ET

Wonder why these athletes are nuts?

Imagine having a choice of dealing with either Sleeeveless Bill Belicheck or Tuna Willdoya Parcells as a boss and leader. Even if you think these guys are nice and professional, and love the teams, do you know how the players are owned?

Now look hard at the resumes and personalities of the coaches here.

UGH!

March 3, 2008  07:28 PM ET

i dont care what this article says or what parcells says....i bet within a month taylor is traded

March 3, 2008  09:36 PM ET

Yea , we've seen this one before from Parcells, The Dolphins will be a completely new team this comming season.

March 3, 2008  09:47 PM ET

whats the point of keeping him???if your going to suck, mite as well suck and be young and rebuild

March 3, 2008  11:06 PM ET

At first, I thought Parcells to be jut some hard nosed grouch who jsut took pleasure in yelling and humiliating people... But after a while, I gained some respect for him... Now, if he releases one of the best pass rushers in NFL history, he'll lose it from me, because he is still an upper-echelon DE and should be treated as such...

March 3, 2008  11:18 PM ET

Tuna has lost his marbles. Retire dude.

March 3, 2008  11:20 PM ET

Taylor isn't up for free agency right now so no matter how much money someone else offers he can't leave!

March 3, 2008  11:22 PM ET

You need to have some veterans on the team to help rebuild and why not have the Defensive MVP of 2006 to do that
