Tar Heels name starting tailback

Coach Butch Davis wants to get away from the running back by committee approach, and that means Greg Little is settled as a full-time starter at North Carolina. The Tar Heels, who began spring practice Monday, used three tailback starters during the 2007 season and settled on Little for the final two games. He rushed for 154 yards and the winning touchdown in the finale against Duke. Little, who will be a sophomore in 2008, began last season as a receiver.

Mmm - timing is strange. In the big scheme of things, does it really matter to anyone in the college football world? The only school that might be watching is down the road....doormat Duke FB.

Awww, I wanted to see Richy Rich play. I don't the announcers would've done anything fun with his name though, like Richard Nixon.

Greg Little is the right choice. Notre Dame wanted him to play receiver, but this kid wanted to be a tail back and he choose the right school, I guess.

I liked the running back by committee approach. It was at least fun to watch although completely inept.

Kind of sad what happened to the 'heels running game under Bunting. Carolina had a string of 11 or 12 years with at least one of their backs getting 1000+ yards. Then Bunting came along and the wheels, or feet, fell off.
