It's refreshing to see some of these top players pick schools other than Michigan or Ohio State. I think Michigan State is getting much better.

This is true.
Caper had an offer from the old UM staff, too, and apparently the new UM staff wasn't interested in renewing that offer. Caper needs to slim back down. He went down to the Jr Army combine and went from a quick running a 4.41 40 time all the way up to 4.68. He bulked up and it really affected him. He's a good talent, though and he'll continue the tradition of underrated, strong backfields in East Lansing.

Michigan State turns out some good running backs. Good move for him.

This is a big time pickup for Sparty. Caper will likely end up being a big, power back. He's added weight significantly each of the last couple years. His dad played college ball (can't recall where, maybe one of the Michigan MAC schools) and is a large man. As a power back, I'm guessing the new Michigan staff didn't see him as the right sort of back.

I'm not so sure. I think Dantonio is great and I like to see him do well, but if Sparty couldn't close out a banged-up and depleted Michigan team last year, at home, with Ringer and Caulcrick and a sick defensive line, it makes me wonder if they'll ever be better than 5th or 4th in the big 10.

I think the University of Michigan had better get used to being the "little sister" to Michigan State.
Dantonio, an Ohio boy, like so many other coaches, is going to turn that program into a powerhouse.

Perhaps it had something to do with the 3 RB recruits UM pulled in this year...
