Cowboys considering Pacman

The wow factor that Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones was talking about adding to his team could be Adam "Pacman" Jones. According to multiple sources, the Cowboys have had internal discussions about obtaining the suspended Tennessee cornerback if he's reinstated by the NFL. Jones is considered one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL, and that alone has made the Cowboys think about bringing him to Dallas, according to the sources.

Don't do it, JJ ... this will end badly for whoever pulls the trigger.

He would be a good addition for the Cowboys if he gets away from his "family". Maybe Jones has super social workers and psychologists on staff.

I have some doubts about cap space and other factors (primarily the league but also what Tenn. will want) on this deal ever happening. I don't think it will.

I will come back for ridicule if it does.

A few things PACMAN better check into before going to Dallas:

1. How late are the strip bars open.
2. Any laws against "making it rain"
3. Does Texas allow black "****"
4. What kind of jail time is he looking at for smacking around the next girlfriend/stripper/wife?

They allow Dip**** but not W.H.I.T.E.^T.R.A.S.H

does he have talent....yes. is he a risk and possible cancer....yes. they said the same thing about T.O. with pacman though he has had troubles with the law. T.O. didn't. I don't see this as a Deion Sanders type of signing. Pacman is a problem child who people need to stay away from. let him go wrestle again.

March 8, 2008  08:13 AM ET

Sign him, sign him, sign him.

If he gets in trouble with the law again, he's probably out of the game for at least another year or so. No harm done.

But if he behaves, it's a HUGE plus.

Little downside, tremendous upside. Make the deal.

Reasons I may abandon the NFL in 2008 - 1. I'm a Raiders fan; 2. Jones potentially being signed by a team in the league.

March 8, 2008  08:26 AM ET

The J.J.E.R.C. (Jerry Jones emotional Rehab Center) can handle him. Bring him on without big money and it'll work.

March 8, 2008  08:38 AM ET

Yeah, sign him up. It's fun and exciting having human debris in the NFL isn't it, guys? It would be so cool if he could play with Chad Johnson and Ricky Williams...all on the same team. While they're at it, maybe Dallas could try to get RB Lawrence Phillips to return to the NFL.

Let's wait until he is actually reinstated first.

March 8, 2008  08:51 AM ET

Guess T.O. and Pac can go hang out- Jerry has a rep for bringing in THUGS to BIG D- guess this is no different, but it's still a bad move- I guess as long as it sells tickets and brings the attention guess Jerry doesn't mind. I seen nothing special from Pac-man- kinda reminds me of Prime time Deion Sanders- yeah he could cover but if he had to tackle someone- oh well- hope he doesn't get turf toe

March 8, 2008  08:51 AM ET

sign him then assign him a chaperone

March 8, 2008  08:54 AM ET

It will be cheaper to sighn him before he's reinstated.

March 8, 2008  09:06 AM ET

Somewhat of a bad move to sign him even though he's good. Jones has too much of a bad history.

March 8, 2008  09:07 AM ET

This just proves that one can never underestimate a man's desire for significance. I suppose Jerry Jones believes so greatly in the Dallas mystique that he will do "anything" to see it come into fruition. This win at all costs mentality is reason behind why people will ignore the character of an athlete for the sake of obtaining his talent. It sets a bad precedent for professional sports and the sports world in general. And then we wonder why kids want to skip school, go to night clubs, buck authority, etc. People who constantly turn a blind eye to people like Pacman Jones, et al, simply because they are great athletes sicken me. There was a time when sports helped build character. I guess those days are long, long gone.

What a shame and what a testament to our culture and society.

March 8, 2008  09:09 AM ET

The end should not ever justify the means.

March 8, 2008  09:22 AM ET

This would be a good move for the Raiders, er I mean Cowboys. Put his locker next to Tank Johnson. The Cowboys are thin at the smacktalking position and one can never have enough criers in the lockerroom.
