07:48 AM ET 03.08 | Mets GM Omar Minaya ruled out pursuing Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa, who are still looking for work. But he did not dismiss the possibility of a trade. "We've already identified teams with outfield situations that have surpluses, and we'll keep an eye on those," Minaya said. He did not elaborate on who those teams are, but the Tigers, the Cubs, the Rangers and the Pirates would qualify.

I'm glad to see the Mets didn't get B*nds. The only thing is they missed out on a great fan.............OMAAR!!!!!

Rule out Bonds and Sosa? Are they kidding. They're just such great role models, and a credit to the game, and such honest regular joes. What is wrong with these teams? What next, they won't let Bonds run for Pope? What is this world coming to? However if they "clear" things up with Congress and their criminal problems, I'm just sure they can play for another 20 years and get better!

Mashed Potatoes has an idea. Why doesn't MLB just start a brand new league where only users qualify to make the teams! Imagine the stats! The average age of the players, the hat sizes could even be stats! $$$ I smell money!!!$$$ Any ideas out there, my fellow geniuses? Of course the medical costs would offset the salaries, but the egos could offset that problem. I smell a winner here!

Why would the Mets have wanted Barroid anyway? All he can do these days is play DH. Seeing as how the NL doesn't have the DH...

What Pete Rose did is not worse. He bet on his own team, which was throwing money away (smirk). He also bet on other teams, but it was never proven that he had players involved. The roiders slanted the table against other teams, and spread the cheating throughout the league. Pete was a great player, but his managerial skills were not equal to his playing prowess. The roiders totally corrupted the game and took it away from the fans and the clean players. What Pete did have in common was his ability to LIE with a straight face and deceive. That is why he will never be in the Hall. (Are you listening Roger?)
By the way Nancy, you can always move to the Bronx and become a real...

Sorry Mets! You can not have Thames!

I think Barry Bonds and Samy Sosa would be perfect fits in Boston. At least if they sign them Hankie S. will be happy that there are now "steroids" in Boston.

March 8, 2008  11:57 AM ET

Bonds Maguire Sousa Clemens Pettit Canseco and hundreds of others affected the outcome of games, titles, and records. Pete Rose did NONE of that. Next to the roid group, Pete Rose is a choir boy

Larry B

Maybe the Mets should get them all on the same team.

Omaar man, we all only have a limited time on the planet. Don't double click the SAVE BUTTON. We get it.

March 8, 2008  12:39 PM ET

Oh great. The Bonds apologist is at it again.

MASHED POTOTOES, she didn't un-intentionally double click that, that's her gig. She's Barry Bonds' grandmother, by the way.
