09:31 AM ET 05.23 | The draft selection almost certainly means the Trailblazers will trade often-troubled but talented post player Zach Randolph, probably for very little, to focus on the development of Greg Oden and LaMarcus Aldridge.

Why don't they keep Randolph and draft Durant instead.
Jack / Roy / Durant / Randolph / Aldridge - hmmm... sounds pretty good to me.

May 23, 2007  09:51 AM ET

Coach: u need to get a **** test done. R u the same guy who said Sam Bowie of Jordan also?

May 23, 2007  10:10 AM ET

Coach,
I thought about the same thing. Although, I read Portland may be trying to get Rashad Lewis in a sign and trade with Seattle moving Zach Randolph. The report said a 3rd team would have to be involved..maybe Chicago in some capacity. Anyway, that potential team would look like Jack, Roy, Lewis, Aldridge and Oden. That's a monster. The shame of it is they play in the west. Imagine that squad in the east. Speaking of which, boy did the east get a lot worse last night.

K11: dAwg, why would u think about trading Greg Oden for Kevin durant. Zach Randolph is not a leader. Can u also name a Hall of fame center who hasn't won a ring? there is only one...... Patrick Ewing. I am a knick fan but U guys got t championship coming in about 5 years.

May 23, 2007  10:20 AM ET

Yeah, Zach Randolph is bad for a locker room. Take Oden, trade Randolph.

May 23, 2007  10:30 AM ET

Oden is going to be a HOF center, He is a hell of a baller, reminds me of D-rob with Bill Russell skills.

May 23, 2007  10:31 AM ET

Why spend your pick to replace players under contract, when you can add to your roster?! Portland loved Randolph, now you don't? Blazers will prob go ahead and draft Oden, so that Roy can be the primary offensive scorer.

Trailblazers have a lot of youth, players like udoka stepped up last season, don't forget about Webster either.

Durant can go to Seattle, which will probably move to Oklahoma between the arena deals falling through and Hornets returning to Louisiana.

May 23, 2007  10:37 AM ET

coach: U guys will be awesome in about two years, unless Oden gets hurt.

May 23, 2007  10:40 AM ET

Real Blazer fans know that Zach has been better in the locker room and he's an absolute beast on the court , true he's not a leader but with Roy on the team why should he be. Portland needs a shooter/scorer in the frontcourt to complete the triangle, The Answer: Kevin Durant !!!

May 23, 2007  10:43 AM ET

Blazers will still be horrible dont worry they will find some way to mess this up

May 23, 2007  10:43 AM ET

Why does everyone say that Oden is already a HOF center? He hasn't done ANYTHING, he didn't do anything in the tournament, and his offensive game is not polished at all. He's a game-changer on defense, but unless he develops an offensive game, he's not going to be a good NBA player. And he is FAR from a sure thing right now. Durant is the better player right now and will be the better player in the future IMO.

May 23, 2007  11:01 AM ET

Ship off Randolph to the Nets for a future first round pick.

May 23, 2007  11:05 AM ET

This is interesting now...the LAKERS should look into getting Randolph, he is a good solid player. A great help for KOBE! If Portland does not ask for too much, this could be a great deal for the LAKERS!

May 23, 2007  11:08 AM ET

DaBrick Wall, Oden dominated his conference for an entire season as a freshman, and with his Left Hand!.. He does have an offensive game, he was hurt the whole year witha broken right hand!..
Dwight Howard doesnt have an offensive game at all, but is still able to pull off good offensive numbers.. Oden is much more talented offensively, and more of a freak defensively.

May 23, 2007  11:13 AM ET

dabigfun,
I didn't say to trade Oden for Durant...a report said Portland may try to get Rashad Lewis in a sign and trade and move Zach Randolph. It makes sense because Lewis makes too much $ to have Durant come in and take his minutes. I guess you could put Lewis at the 3, but you better try to put 125 a night because you won't get any rebounds with that.

Balzer410,
Way to go out there!!! It does make some sense to go with Durant..but only if you think Randolph is worthy of staying. Portland can't afford to make a mistake on that one. Jack, Roy, Durant, Randolph and Aldridge is nice, but Randolph could blow that whole thing to bits. On the ther hand, you gotta love the prospect of Jack, Roy, Lewis(Rashad), Aldridge and Oden. Balzer410, check out your paper..The Oregonian on that deal...if you haven't already.

May 23, 2007  11:14 AM ET

"he didn't do anything in the tournament"

did you even watch the tournament? Say, the championship game he almost won by himself against an insanely loaded Florida front court? As a FRESHMAN?

May 23, 2007  11:18 AM ET

DaBrick Wall: I said it, look at the history of centers who played in the game? so u think Durant is better? well maybe but he won't be a presence like Oden. Shaq, Dream, Walton, d-rob, russ, parish, Kareem, wilt, mikan. out of that whole group, ewing is the only one without a ring.

May 23, 2007  11:21 AM ET

I agree with pretty much everyone. As much as I hate to say it, I think Oden should go to Portland and Randolph should be traded. The reason why I hate to say this is because I would hate to see Durant in Seattle, especially if they re-sighn Lewis or if Durant and Randolph end up together. Randolph is poison to any team.

May 23, 2007  11:23 AM ET

Sunny,
I know he isn't popular on this board, but Gasol may go cheaper. Memphis is in the toilet financially and has the #4 pick. They may want to strip things down to bare bones. But, you do hope Portland takes Oden making Randolph more than expendable at a lesser rate! All of a sudden, teams like the Bulls and Lakers have options. Sunny, would you have a problem with an only half-hearted attempt by the Lakers to re-sign Walton to try to carve out a little more room for Randolph? Move Odom to the 3 with Randolph and Bynum? Point guard is still an issue, but would you go for it?

May 23, 2007  11:37 AM ET

K11: dawg how did pau gasol get in the mix? greg oden did things for Ohio stae b-setball that noone has ver done. I am a tarheel fan so it hurts o give him props btu when I looked at him I saw raw talent, I also watched tim at wake forest back on the eastcoast, pat at georgetown, dream at houston. all of those guys were just as raw as greg. Greg oden has a high IQ. the blazer shouldn't do what the texans did when they gave away Reggie Bush. durant is another T-MAC, KG, Dirk, Rashard lewis. those anyof them got rings? no.. do they make anyone on the team better?...no Oden will.
