Cowboys unrestricted free agent strong safety Keith Davis will visit Miami today as he seeks more playing time. The special teams captain was tied for third on the Cowboys with 18 special-teams tackles in 2007 but rarely played on defense. According to Davis' agent, Curtis Stephens, several teams are interested in him, including the Cowboys.

Hate to see him go but he was never going to start on defense..

March 10, 2008  08:25 AM ET

He will have a chance to be the starter in Miami if he signs. They would probably move SS Y. Bell to FS and let KD take over at SS.

March 10, 2008  08:40 AM ET

If he wasn't good enough to crack the starting line up in a pretty weak Dallas secondary, he was never going to start anyway! Helleuva special teams player though!

The Tuna churns the waters.

March 10, 2008  09:13 AM ET

Bill Parcells should just rent a bus and take it to Dallas. It will be alot easier that way.

March 10, 2008  09:28 AM ET

Davis is a SS. The reason he really didn't get to start is because your boy Roy Williams.

March 10, 2008  09:58 AM ET

maybe this guy could play better if he got a different face mask. Can he see out of that thing?

March 10, 2008  10:22 AM ET

My boy wears that face mask. He says he sees just fine at FS. I use the one with 3 bars coming down (RB, LB, S) Facemask. I personally don't like that facemask....

I love the headline, "Cowboys Captain visits Dolphins". Then you read he's the special teams capt. That's like a headline of "Gold Medal runner at Spring Training", then learning that Corky from Life Goes On is a big Rays fan.

March 10, 2008  12:13 PM ET

I thought the same thing....this story is no big deal. special teams players are a dime a dozen.

March 10, 2008  12:57 PM ET

Roy Williams gambles way too much which often leaves others on the team to pick up the slack. Still no way they will start someone in front of Williams. Williams is paid too much to sit on the bench.
It is the same philosophy that GMs and coaches use to rush rookie QBs onto the field before they are ready (We have to get some return on our investment).

March 10, 2008  03:32 PM ET

Special teams players are NOT a dime a dozen. Our special teams were horrible last year and cost us a lot of games. So is signing him improves are special teams than I say go for it!

March 10, 2008  04:27 PM ET

Bill will sign him in Miami to bolster his new team

March 10, 2008  05:07 PM ET

If he can't bump a bum like Roy "I'm Not Lott" Williams there must be something wrong.

Keep Davis and dump Williams.

March 10, 2008  05:47 PM ET

The Miami Cowboys?

March 10, 2008  06:21 PM ET

dallas needs to move williams to LB.hes to slow back there

March 10, 2008  06:29 PM ET

He wears that style of face mask due to an eye injury he got when he was in a bar fight.. He could be blind if he takes any kind of injury..

March 10, 2008  06:31 PM ET

dallas needs to move williams to Giants so we could get the deep pass on them more often I used to love him but now I can not stand him.

March 10, 2008  06:33 PM ET

Roy Williams hasn't been right since he broke up with Kelly.. I used to love him also, but lets face it.. He sticks in deep coverage.. and his *big hits* are few and far between!
